FUNGUS
CONTROL SCHEDULE - 2 times a year
| 1
|
July - September |
Gray Leaf Spot is a blotchy
spot on the grass blade leafs
(mostly on St. Augustine lawns). Use fungicides like Daconil or
Consan. |
Note 1:
Some Texas residents, usually in April/May may notice salt-and-pepper-like
blotches on their St. Augustine. It may look as if someone threw an oily
substance on their grass. This is an indication of fungal spores coming
up at a rapid rate. Simply use some Consan Triple Action 20 and apply
to a whisk broom or small straw broom and sweep the residue off of your
grass. That's it.

September - October |
| To control the dreaded Brownpatch
fungal disease (symmetrical brown circles in the grass) you must
prevent it from coming up, with a systemic lawn fungicide with Bayleton,
Terrachlor or Benomyl. |
Note 2:
Use products with Bayleton to prevent Brownpatch. If you already have
Brownpatch, use products with Terrachlor to control it. Remember, Brownpatch
is more likely to occur when it starts getting cool at night; therefore
if you are suspect of it in the summer time...its probably not Brownpatch,
but rather insects (see chart).
